The idea of creating additional competition sections was a natural consequence of our previous activities. The community\u2019s leader is Maria Linde, a Nobel-winning Polish poet who found on Italian soil an ideal basis for her personal bubble. But she still feels that something is missing. On one hand, she accepts the biological and communal roles of a mother, a wife, and a grandmother, but on the other, her restless spirit defies the idea of becoming a tamed and predictable artist without a strong voice. In other words, Maria\u2019s internal bomb has been ticking for some time now, and it explodes when it is least expected. One day, in order to find his wife, he goes on a journey to an island where they have met. In doing this, he also wants to remind himself of what kind of person he was all those years ago, and to again feel the heat of passion that once drove him relentlessly. When he is not able to locate the woman, he loses himself in the art of photographing the world that surrounds him with his old camera. He immortalises the different perspectives of assessing and appreciating reality, and, at the same time, goes on an oneiric odyssey through the past, the present, and the future, as though the long-forgotten ghosts of previous centuries were influencing the way in which the island\u2019s inhabitants\u2019 perceived the world. Mr Zhu is both fascinated and terrified by what is happening, including encounters with eccentric people who inspire him to think about himself. Nevertheless, the event did not have any meaning for the poverty-stricken inhabitants of the favelas. Jaca knows all too well that sportsmanship alone is not enough to change anything. He has recently been released from prison, and wants to escape the world of violence that nearly saw the end of him. He would like to set up his own pizza joint and change people\u2019s lives with good food and kind words, but his former colleagues start knocking on his door. At the same time, Jaca finds out he might be a father. Her name is Tati and she is an intelligent, good-natured teenager who does her best to stay out of harm\u2019s way and earn a chance for a brighter future. These two individuals, lost among the ocean of the poverty of the favelas, forge a special bond that makes them both better human beings.
