The <span>programmers <\/span>are bending over backwards to choose real gems for our festival audience from hundreds of titles submitted in the past months. The protagonist begins to gradually reevaluate his priorities after he meets his distant relative, Joachim (played by <strong>Andrzej Seweryn<\/strong>), a successful man who has achieved practically everything professionally and decides to spend the last years of his life in his native Poland. Multiple winner of Polish Film Awards and Golden Lions at Gdynia Film Festival. He has held many positions in institutions related to Polish film and published several books about cinema. He lectured, among others, at the British National Film School, Lodz Film School or Collegium Civitas in Warsaw. In 2021, he was honored with Platinum Lions for Lifetime Achievement at the Film Festival in Gdynia. His cinema is characterized by a reflective, existential mood and insightful observations of a philosophical and theological nature. By showing the inner lives of his protagonists, he fleshes out their internal moral conflicts, which are always marked by accurate reflections on the condition of mankind in the contemporary world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>Piotr Niemyjski<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (born 1978), a graduate of the Cinematography Studies at the Lodz Film School. In his professional career, he has collaborated with filmmakers such as Krzysztof Zanussi, Agnieszka Holland, Jolanta Dylewska, Katarzyna Kozyra, Ewa Stankiewicz, Rafael Lewandowski, Bartosz Konopka, Ozan Aciktan, Kordian Piwowarski, Leiv Igor Devold and Kei Ishikawa. Creator of feature films and documentaries, as well as advertising projects.
