This exhibition is the first of the kind in Poland, presenting works by German artists active in Cologne called the M\u00fclheimer Freiheit<\/strong> group. Distinguished by its amicable attitude to all artistic phenomena, the group played an important role in the movement. They were said to be artists without ideology. Its members were: Hans Peter Adamski, Peter B\u00f6mmels, Walter Dahn, Ji\u0159\u00ed Georg Dokoupil, Gerard Kever, and Gerhard Naschberger<\/strong>. They all worked without any program objectives, without formulating any manifesto, nor did they have any ambition to create their own school or style. The works allude to the aesthetics of art brut, graffiti, bad painting, punk fanzines, and new wave music. The exhibition presents a unique chance to see how the 1980s M\u00fclheimer Freiheit<\/strong> artists used techniques of action painting, collage, and mural painting. These works of art may strike the viewers as violent, aggressive, seemingly carelessly framed. But they perfectly capture the spirit of the times in which they were created, when the flame of euphoria of the youth movement of the late 1960s had already burned out, and the world, after Russia had invaded Afghanistan, was once again plunged into the arms race and rivalry between the two world powers.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/archive.camerimage.pl\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/04\/DSC08269-1-scaled.jpg\")
