Awards season is in full swing. The list of films competing for the prestigious American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards was just released. Among the nominees there are many outstanding filmmakers also recognized during the 31st<\/sup> EnergaCAMERIMAGE<\/span> in Toru\u0144, Poland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the pictures which has emerged as a favorite in the Oscar\u00ae race is Poor Things<\/em><\/span>, competing for 11 statuettes, including Best Picture, Directing, Writing (Adapted Screenplay) and Acting categories. The film opened the EnergaCAMERIMAGE 2023<\/strong> and was competing for Golden Frog in Main Competition, winning the Bronze Frog, as well as the festival\u2019s Audience Award.<\/p>\n

But we are particularly excited about the Best Cinematography<\/strong> category, as we’re delighted to announce that four motion pictures, highly appreciated at our festival, have received their Oscar\u00ae nominations.<\/p>\n

Our sincere congratulations go to Ed Lachman<\/strong> (El Conde<\/em><\/span>, Silver Frog), Robbie Ryan<\/strong> (Poor Things<\/em><\/span>, Bronze Frog), Matthew Libatique<\/strong> (Maestro<\/em><\/span>, Main Competition), Rodrigo Prieto<\/strong> (Killers of the Flower Moon<\/em><\/span>, Main Competition) and Hoyte van Hoytema<\/strong> (Oppenheimer<\/em><\/span>). However, this is not the end of good news. Among the nominees for the Academy Awards\u00ae are also feature and documentary films presented during EnergaCAMERIMAGE 2023<\/strong>, such as Napoleon<\/em>, The Zone of Interest<\/em>, Society of the Snow<\/em><\/span> (Main Competition), and The Creator<\/em>, Barbie<\/em>, Anatomy of a Fall<\/em>, The Holdovers<\/em>, May December<\/em><\/span> (Special Screenings) as well as Grandma & Grandma<\/em>,<\/span> the documentary picture qualified to the Documentary Shorts Competition.<\/p>\n

As organizers of EnergaCAMERIMAGE<\/strong>, we were thrilled to see that as many as 13 titles, honored by the Academy, were part of our last year’s program. In total, these films garnered an impressive 74 nominations for this prestigious award!<\/p>\n
