In their films they often use puppets &#8211; and those \u2018actors\u2019 also call for interesting light. During the meeting <b>Timothy and Stephen Quay<\/b> talked about animation specifics in the US and Europe and the influence of Polish poster art, which they find inspiring. <\/p>\n<p> On <b>Tuesday<\/b> at 12:45 in the Grand Theatre their movie <i>Institute Benjamenta, or the Dream Which One Calls Human Life<\/i> will be screened. <\/p>\n<p><b>Editing Workshops, Lodz Film School<\/b><br \/><b>Roger Crittenden<\/b>, editor (<i>The Last of the Mohicans<\/i>), talked about the limitations of editing &#8211; &#8220;more a poetry, than an artisanship&#8221;. He attempted to answer a question: is the &#8220;essential picture&#8221; better than fast cutting, frequently used in contemporary filmmaking. <br \/> The second workshop, \u201cFrom Welles to Travianis&#8221;, was led by <b>Roberto Perpigniani<\/b>. And again poetry was present, this time as a \u201ctransition form the cinema of poetry to the cinema of prose&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p><b> Edward Lachman\u2019s Press Conferrence (the cinematographer of <i>I\u2019m Not There<\/i>), Grand Theatre<\/b><br \/><i>I\u2019m not There<\/i> is the second, after <i>Far from Heaven<\/i> (nominated for the Oscar in 2002), collaboration of Lachman and Todd Haynes. The movie is a non-conventional attempt of presenting a biography of Bob Dylan. He is played by six different actors (including Cate Blanchett). The creators used various film forms, including documentary scenes. Lachman says: \u201cThe movie is only partially devoted to the artist\u2019s life, we mainly focused on his artistic evolution&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p><b>Discovery Networks Europe: HD Presentation, Grand Theatre<\/b><br \/><b>Bill Graff<\/b>, Director of HD Programming, responsible for Discovery HD programming offer in 14 international markets presented the European market and its development plans for the next five years. After the introduction a film in High Definition technology was screened. After the presentation the Festival audience could talk to Bill Graff during his press conference. <\/p>\n<p><b>Press conference of the makers of <i>Twist of Fate<\/i>, Grand Theatre<\/b><br \/> Two family duos, related to the movie, participated: <b>Jerzy Stuhr<\/b> (director), <b>Bartosz Prokopowicz<\/b> (cinematographer), <b>Maciej Stuhr<\/b> (playing Tomek), <b>Jeremiasz Prokopowicz<\/b> (cameraman). The audience could talk to them not only about the plot itself (difficult moral and interpersonal dilemmas of a communist security informer), but also about the co-operation on the set, as they all say &#8220;very fortunate one&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p><b> Press conference of Jarko T. Laine, (cinematographer of <i>The New Man<\/i>), Grand Theatre<\/b><br \/><i>The New Man<\/i>, directed by <i>Klaus Haro<\/i> focuses on social issues, but the cinematographer focused mainly on the picture, cinematographic space and light used for portraying emotions.
