Before the official opening the visitors listened to <b>Male\u0144czuk Trio<\/b>, performing live music, illustrating the silent movie <i>Strongman<\/i>.  <\/p>\n<p> Later, in the main Sceening Room the official opening ceremony took place. The guests were greeted by <b>The Mayor of Lodz, Jerzy Kropiwnicki<\/b>, who read a letter from <b>The President of Poland, Lech Kaczy\u0144ski<\/b> and <b>Marek \u017bydowicz, Director of Plus Camerimage 2007<\/b>.  <\/p>\n<p> Special Awards were presented: <\/p>\n<p><b>Manuel Alberto Claro<\/b> received a jubilee \u2018Frog of Frogs\u2019 for the best, according to Internet users, awarded film of the whole 15-years history of the Festival (<i>Reconstruction<\/i>, Bronze Frog 2004). <\/p>\n<p><b>Miroslav Ondricek<\/b> received the Special Award for Immense Contribution to the Art of Cinematography. <\/p>\n<p><b>Adam Holender<\/b> received the Special Award for Polish Cinematographer for the Immense Contribution to the Art of Film. <\/p>\n<p> There was also another surprise: Vulcan Prize for <b>Janusz Kami\u0144ski<\/b>, awarded at the Cannes Festival by the CST Technical Jury for <i>The Diving Bell and the Butterfly<\/i>, and due to the absence of the cinematographer in Cannes, presented by the Cannes jury representative in Lodz, tonight. <\/p>\n<p> Janusz Kami\u0144ski announced screenings of his two movies, opening Plus Camerimage 2007: <i>Hania<\/i> (as a director) and the mentioned, competition movie <i>The Diving Bell and the Butterfly<\/i>. <\/p>\n<p> Morre excitement already on Sunday. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This year the Festival Gala was a surprise not only for the audience familiar with Plus Camerimage\u2019s atmosphere.
