The Jury also considered the lighting, the composition, the movement, and the choices the cinematographers made. After the in-depth discussions they were impressed by the tremendous efforts and creativity that went into all the competitive films.  <\/p>\n<p><b>The Plus Camerimage 2007 Golden Frog went to Janusz Kami\u0144ski for the cinematography on <i>The Diving Bell and the Butterfly<\/i>.<\/b><br \/> According to the Jury, this film has advanced the art of cinematography and also takes the audience on a journey,  one is totally unprepared for. It\u2019s a film where the collaboration between the cinematographer and the director felt seamless. It\u2019s bold, audacious, and visually challenging. It allows to see an extraordinary part of human nature in a fresh and profound way. It\u2019s a very personal film whose photography was organic to the story &#8211; a story that expresses the trapped circumstances of an individual. The frame of composition and camera gives the feeling of being trapped &#8211; and yet it also gives a feeling of exhilaration and hope. <\/p>\n<p><b>The Plus Camerimage 2007 Silver Frog went to Bruno Delbonnel for the cinematography on <i> Across the Universe<\/b><\/i>. <br \/> The verdict of the Jury says: &#8220;This award goes to one of those movies that accomplishes what movies should do \u2014 take us on a journey. Technically, it was difficult to execute, and yet it captured the fluctuating movements of the times it portrayed. It was intelligently and beautifully photographed; it had moments of great emotion and was both though-provoking and inspired. It gave us a refreshing interpretation of music and story through an effective use of iconic songs. And, most of all, it was joyful.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><b>The Plus Camerimage 2007 Bronze Frog went to Ed Lachman for the cinematography on <i>I\u2019m Not There<\/b><\/i>. <br \/>The Jury justified their choice: &#8220;For this award we have chosen the film which was one of the most experimental and innovative films we have seen. We admired the construction and the composition, the complexity and the style, the sensitive homage to the period black and white film, and the unique and individual perspective that brought us the songs of Bob Dylan.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><span><b>STUDENTS ETUDES COMPETITION<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p> Students Etudes were judged by: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Vilmos Zsigmond &#8211; Jury President<\/b>\n<li> Murray Close \n<li> Witold Giersz \n<li> R\u00fcdiger Laske \n<li> Chris Niedenthal \n<li> Billy Williams\n<li> Zhanabek Zhetiruov <\/ul>\n<p> This year the Student Jury has shared in a visual feast of the art of cinematography, enjoying films shot in traditional style and also being surprised by others, which have fully embraced and exploited the newest technology. The Jury admired students&#8217; sense of adventure and the passion they have expressed on the screen.  <\/p>\n<p><b>Laszlo Kovacs Student Award &#8211; Golden Tadpole Plus Camerimage 2007 was granted to Tomasz Wo\u017aniczka, cinematographer of <i>Beyond the Horizon<\/i><\/b><br \/>The Golden Tadpole was presented to a film of dramatic complexity. The director and cinematographer explore the instability of a society searching for their identity. They combine to create a new horizon, bravely exploring the new technology with visual flare and power.Tomasz Wo\u017aniczka is a student of the Department of Radio and Television of the University of Silesia.  <\/p>\n<p><b>Plus Camerimage 2007 Silver Tadpole was granted to Raphael Beinder, cinematographer of <i>My Father is Sleeping<\/i><\/b><br \/>The Silver Tadpole was presented to a film of exquisite imagery. Rich and finely textured. The camera seamlessly, without dialogue, expressed the family drama with a poetic vision. Raphael Beinder is a student of the German School of Film and Television in Berlin.  <\/p>\n<p><b>Plus Camerimage 2007 Bronze Tadpole was granted to Micha\u0142 Soboci\u0144ski, cinematographer of <i>Father<\/i><\/b><br \/>The Bronze Tadpole is presented to a film told with simplicity and sensitivity. It is a work of pure photography, a fluid composition of light and shade. Micha\u0142 Soboci\u0144ski is a student of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Film School. <\/p>\n<p> Additional Awards were presented in the Student Etudes Competition: <\/p>\n<li><b>Association of Polish Filmmakers<\/b><\/a> (Stowarzyszenie Filmowc\u00f3w Polskich) granded the Award of 2000 USD to Tomasz Wo\u017aniczka, the winner of Laszlo Kovacs Student Award &#8211; Golden Tadpole .\n<li><b>The Light for the Arts<\/b> &#8211;  <b>OSRAM<\/b><\/a> Company Award for a creative use of light in a film. The award of PLN 10,000 was granted to <b>Weronika Bilska<\/b> the cinematographer of <i>Varsovienne<\/i>\n<li><b>PANAVISION<\/b><\/a> granted the <b>Special Award for Best Picture Technique in Student Film Competition <\/b>to <b>Felix Novo de Oliveira<\/b>, cinematographer of <i>Milan<\/i>\n<p><span><b>POLISH FILMS COMPETITION UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF PLUS NETWORK OPERATOR<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p> The films presented within the competition were judged by: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Jaromir Sofr &#8211; Jury President<\/b>\n<li>Affonso Beato\n<li>Cesar Charlone\n<li>Roman Osin\n<li>Franz Rath <\/ul>\n<p> The Jury admitted that the level of quality, richness and diversity made it a challenge for them to reach the final decision. <\/p>\n<p><b>The Award for the Best Film in the Polish Film Competition went to Adam Bajerski for <i>Tricks<\/i>.<\/b><br \/> The winning film integrated cinematography and direction with technical accomplishment and a sensitivity to the subject matter of the story. It showed an ingenious creativity and courage in the use of colour and light. <\/p>\n<p><span><b>NOKIA MOBILE MOVIE COMPETITION<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p> Films were judged by: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>S\u0142awomir Idziak &#8211; Jury President<\/b>\n<li>Phil Meheux\n<li>Louis-Philippe Capellle  <\/ul>\n<p><b>The audience chose James Kambeitz\u2019s <i>Decision<\/i> as the best film.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>The Jury Award went to Angela \u015awi\u0119c for <i>The City of Joy<\/i>. <\/b><br \/> &#8220;The Jury unanimously felt that of this year\u2019s entries this film really fulfilled the brief of \u201cThis happy day.&#8221; It was both informative and entertaining, very well edited and enhanced with the director\u2019s own, enchanting music score.
