The Duo Director-Cinematographer Award at PLUS CAMERIMAGE<\/span> 2007 goes to Alan Parker<\/b> and Michael Seresin<\/b> who worked together on such movies as Midnight Express, Birdy<\/span><\/I> or Angel Heart<\/span><\/I> to mention just a few. <\/p>\n Alan Parker<\/b> is one of the most outstanding contemporary film directors. Many of his movies became real classics. Alan Parker made his first movie, Bugsy Malone<\/span><\/I>, in 1975. It was a musical pastiche of the gangster pictures of the 20s, and its cast was comprised entirely of children. This picture, as well as many of his later movies received prestigious nominations and awards, including Oscars, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globes and Grand Prix of Cannes Festival. <\/p>\n Alan Parker made most of his movies with the cinematographer Michael Seresin<\/b>. They collaborated on the sets of such films as Bugsy Malone, Midnight Express, Fame, Birdy, Angel Heart, Come See the Paradise, Angela’s Ashes <\/span><\/I>and Life of David Gale<\/span><\/I>. Parker’s filmography, acclaimed both by critics and the audience, includes also such titles as, Mississippi Burning<\/span><\/i>, Pink Floyd: The Wall<\/span><\/I>, The Road to Wellville<\/span><\/i>,The Commitments<\/span><\/I>, Evita<\/span><\/I>. <\/p>\n Michael Seresin apart from the above mentioned movies made in collaboration with Alan Parker, has also been the cinematographer for such films as City Hall, Mercury Rising, Domestic Disturbance, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban<\/span><\/I>. He also shot one segment of Paris, I Love You<\/span><\/I> and his latest feature Step Up<\/span><\/I>. He was born in 1942 in New Zealand. In the late 60s he moved to Italy which, as he says, was a cultural shock for him. Then, Seresin moved to Great Britain for a while and then back to Italy, the country that has drawn him most. He made his feature debut on the set of The Ragman’s Daughter<\/span><\/I> by Harold Becker<\/b>.
