The Hungarian master will receive the award during the Camerimage Opening Ceremony on 25th November. The honor had been granted in the past to such directors, as, among others: Andriej Konczalovski (2005), Oliver Stone (2004), James Ivory (2003), Neil Jordan (2002). Istvan Szabo is regarded as one of the most influential and distinguished directors of his generation.
