The Retrospective was a parallel section where some of Freddie Francis' most illustrious films were presented: The Elephant Man - directed by David Lynch Sons and Lovers - directed by Jack Cardiff The Straight Story - directed David Lynch The "Frog embodied" Award was granted to Freddie Francis during the Closing Ceremony on Saturday, December 7th. The next record has been achieved. Almost 900 students picked up their accreditation during the Festival. Once again particular character of CAMERIMAGE gave them a chance of active participation in the event just side by side with their masters. Students presented their short works to the audience but certainly the most thrilling aspect for them was the fact that their films were judged by such magnificent cinematographers and director as Peter Deming, Csaba Kael, John Mathieson, Phedon Papamichael, Billy Williams, Piotr Wojtowicz and Vilmos Zsigmond as a Jury President. Students, representing almost 30 Schools from more than 20 countries, showed 28 films in the Competition and 16 in the World Panorama. The etudes competed for Golden, Silver and Bronze Tadpole and the awards went to: Together with Opus Film Studio from Lodz we prepared professional workshops, where students had the exceptional opportunity to see the masters of vision at work revealing the secrets of their craft and talking about their experiences. On the first-day-workshops students spent exciting hours with Edward Lachman and Phedon Papamichael during ARRI LIGHTING Workshops. At the next day students had a rare chance to see the way of working of Ken Loach together with Barry Ackroyd and also witness the mastery of Vilmos Zsigmond at ARRICAM Workshops. Furthermore, they also attended ARRIMOTION Workshops led by Michael Haubmann. The students as well as the regular audience had the chance to attend engaging seminars by Volker Schlöndorff, Willem Dafoe, Irene Jacob, Ken Loach, Barry Ackroyd, Christopher Doyle, Peter Deming, Dante Spinotti, Edward Lachman and Sławomir Idziak. • On Thursday, December 5th at 8.30 p.m. all the guests were witnesses of Cutting the 10th Anniversary Birthday Cake founded by KINOŚWIAT. The cake's pieces were given to all the guests and first most important cuts have been made by Andrzej Bartkowiak, Dante Spinotti and Marek Żydowicz.
• On Thursday, December 5th at 10.30 p.m. in the Festival Pub - Evergreen KODAK STUDENTS PARTY organised with Camerimage Film Festival was held.
• On Saturday, December 7th at 1 p.m. on the main street of City of Lodz - Piotrowska Street, the Council of Łodź together with Camerimage Film Festival and assisted by Witold Sobociński, Freddie Francis, Vilmos Zsigmond and Billy Williams opened the Jubilee Camerimage Star devoted to all Camerimage Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients. Since then the Festival and their most important guests will be present in the history of Lodz forever.
• On Saturday, December 7th at 1 p.m. in the POLONIA Cinema, ARRI organised Special Presentation of its film Circle of Love.
• During the whole Festival the Photographs Exhibition in M1 Shopping Centre has been held.

The 10th Anniversary edition of Camerimage was special as well as our guests. During the Opening and Closing Ceremonies apart from Frogs and Tadpoles for the best films the Festival, Cinematographers and people related to the Festival granted several Special Awards to magnificent creators of film and image: To sum up, the 10th edition of the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography - CAMERIMAGE was very successful. More than 30.000 Lodz inhabitants visited the Festival Centre within the Festival week. We have hosted over 900 students and about 200 cinematographers from all over the world. The City of Lodz, for the third time, was the witness of the film celebration and hosted such great personalities as: Andrzej Bartkowiak, Neil Jordan, Csaba Kael, Ken Loach, Volker Volker Schlöndorff, Piotr Trzaskalski, Andrzej Żuławski, Willem Dafoe, Irene Jacob, Nutza Kukhiani, Barry Ackroyd, Walter Carvalho, Josep M.
