The International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography CAMERIMAGE is not only about wonderful films and fantastic workshops, seminars, lectures or exhibitions. It is also a place where you can meet professionals from around the world who probably shot, edited or directed the films that made you love cinema, or have the potential to do that for the future generations of moviegoers. Here is the sixth of a few newsletters that we will send out to introduce the phenomenal guests of Camerimage 2013 - the true celebrities of our Festival.

FRANZ LUSTIG

German cinematographer, born in 1967 in Freiburg im Breisgau. He knew he wanted to become a cinematographer since he got his first camera from his parents when he was 8 years old. Since 1994 he worked on commercials and music videos, winning a German Video Clip Award two times in a row, while in 2010 he received a prestigious Mobius Award. He shot his first feature film, Land of Plenty by Wim Wenders, in just 16 days. With the same director, they collaborated twice more on Don't Come Knocking with Jessica Lange, for which he received a European Film Award and which was presented at Camerimage Festival, and on Palermo Shooting with Dennis Hooper. His most recent film is How I Live Now, a British drama directed by Kevin Macdonald and starring Saoirse Ronan.

EDUARD GRAU

Spanish cinematographer and director, born in 1981 in Barcelona. In 2011 he shot a music video to a hit song by Lady Gaga, Born This Way, which was acknowledged by MTV as the Best Female Video of the year. When he was just 27 years old he made an acclaimed drama A Single Man directed by Tom Ford, by taking inspiration in Life Magazine covers from the 1960s and in the work of an American photographer Robert Richardson. For his stylish cinematography mirroring the main character's mood he was nominated for a Golden Frog. He also shot The Awakening with Rebecca Hall and Buried directed by Rodrigo Cortes, for which he received a nomination to a Goya Award and a Bronze Frog. He just finished shooting Suite Française with Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas. He has already attended Camerimage Festival six times, in 2012 he was on the Student Etudes Competition jury.

SIMON DUGGAN

Australian cinematographer, born in 1959 in Wellington in New Zealand. Member of SOC and, since 1989, of ACS. Nominated for an Australian Film Institute Award for his cinematography on The Interview with Hugo Weaving. He shot such action spectaculars as Underworld: Evolution, Live Free or Die Hard and Killer Elite. He made four films with an Egyptian-born Australian film director Alex Proyas, among others I, Robot and The Knowing with Nicolas Cage, one of the first big productions shot on a digital camera RED ONE. The Great Gatsby, shot by him and directed by Baz Luhrmann will be presented during this year's edition of Camerimage Festival in the new 3D competition section.

STEVEN POSTER

American cinematographer, born in 1944 in Chicago. Member of CSC and ASC, in the years 2002 - 2003 he was the president of this organization. President of the International Cinematographers Guild. When he was just 14 years old he already knew that he wanted to make movies. At the beginning of his career he met the father of splatter Herschell Gordon Lewis, with whom he collaborated on three films as a camera assistant, sound technician and actor. He shot commercials with such directors as Michael Mann i Ridley Scott and Madonna's controversial music video Like a Prayer, which was condemned by religious groups and the Vatican. He worked on set of The Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Blade Runner, films that already made cinema history. He shot, among others, Rocky V, Une chance sur deux with Vanessa Paradis and three films with Richard Kelly: Donnie Darko, Southland Tales and The Box. Nominated for an Emmy Award for his cinematography on Mrs. Harris with Annette Bening.

DANIELE NANNUZZI

Italian cinematographer, born in 1949 in Rome. Among others, he collaborated with Alejandro Jodorowski on Santa Sagre and with Franco Zeffirelli, both as a cinematographer and as a second unit director. With the latter he made seven films, such as Young Toscanini and Tea with Mussolini with Cher and Judi Dench. Recipient of a Donatello Award for his cinematography on El Alamein directed by Enzo Monteleone. The premiere of The Art of Cinematography on which he collaborated with Vittorio Storaro, Lorenzo Codelli, Luciano Tovoli, Gabriele Lucci, and Bob Fischer will take place during this year's edition of Camerimage Festival. Furthermore, Daniele Nannuzzi will be on the Cinematographers' Debut Competition jury.

MARTINA RADWAN

German cinematographer and director. She began her career as a camera technician at ARRI in Berlin. She collaborated with Wim Wenders on Far Away So Close and Until The End of The World and with Albert Maysles. In her body of work she switches easily from fiction to documentary, incorporating narrative elements into documentaries and vice versa. Among others, she made Flannel Pajamas directed by Jaff Lipsky presented at Sundance festival, The Killing Floor produced by Doug Liman and Avi Arad and Saving Face, a short documentary which was awarded an Oscar in 2012. During this year's edition of Camerimage Festival she will be on the Feature Documentary Films Competition jury.
