The cooperation of CAMERIMAGE Festival and the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG) results in the next presentation of the winners of ICG's Emerging Cinematographers Awards. ICG ECA is a short film competition open to all ICG members who are not professional cinematographers. Camerimage will present the best films entered into the competition this year.
Nurturing talent and giving promising cinematographers the crucial exposure they need to succeed in the Motion Picture Industry lies at the heart of the International Cinematographers Guild's annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards. The annual competition was first launched in 1996, through an idea proposed by Rob Kositchek, who was an assistant cameraman at the time.

A heartbroken Claudia has split up with her fiancé and hooks up with a hipster as a rebound fling. Eager to leave her previous love behind her, she follows him to an artists’ retreat in France. When they encounter a wild European couple one night, Claudia becomes an unwitting participant in a hedonistic romp.

Set in the backcountry of modern-day America, Break the Will is about an Amish mother and father who catch their 12-year-old son watching them during a moment of intimacy. They clash when they have to decide if this was boyish curiosity and whether they must punish the boy with violence.

Martial arts master turned superhero Cassie Weston must battle her equally matched rival in order to save her sister’s soul.

La Sirena is a psychosexual fairy tale about Mia, a woman who lives in a small fishing village and who is having an affair with Hector, a married fisherman. On the day Hector threatens to end the affair, Mia discovers a mysterious woman, Mara, washed up on the shore, naked and with a hook lodged in her ribcage. After Mia brings her home and heals her wound, Mara tells her that a fisherman tried to stab her in the heart. With suspicions that Hector might have been involved, Mia is forced to confront Hector and, eventually, surrenders to her own inner monster to avenge her broken heart.

Unbound is an allegorical short film set in turn-of-the-century Japan about a young woman, Kitsune, who accepts an offer to work at a mysterious silk factory in order to save her destitute family. However, the offer is more than she bargained for – she soon finds herself entangled in a disturbing metamorphosis as her body transforms into a silkworm, becoming the commodity the factory is selling.
