The success of the consecutive editions of Plus Camerimage Film Festival and the high quality of the films presented and awarded at the Festival, have encouraged the organizers to hold presentations of Plus Camerimage winners in the US in cooperation with William Morris Endeavor Entertainment. It is the third time that we are showing selected films that were distinguished by the juries of the Festival competitions during the last edition of the event.

At this special and unique show, in the very heart of the film industry and specially for the invited guests we are showing four awarded feature films, three student etudes, one documentary and two music videos. Enjoy this sample of the Festival's spirit and experience the best of the international cinematography brought to you by Plus Camerimage, Polish Film Institute and hosted by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment.

SILENT SOULS SILVER FROG - MAIN COMPETITION cin. MIKHAIL KRICHMAN dir. Aleksei Fedorchenko Russia 75 min. When Miron's beloved wife Tanya passes away, he asks his best friend Aist to help him say goodbye to her according to the sacred rituals of the Merya culture. The two men set out on a road trip thousands of miles across the boundless lands. Along the way Miron shares memories of his conjugal life. But as they reach the banks of the lake where they will forever part with the body, he realises he wasn't the only one in love with Tanya... "An elegiac, simple, and moving film." *

BEKAS BRONZE TADPOLE - STUDENT ETUDES COMPETITION cin. JOHAN HOLMQUIST dir. Karzan Kader Dramatiska Institutet Denmark 29 min. Two small, homeless Kurdish brothers go to see "Superman" in the town's first movie theatre, and decide they are going to the US to live with him. Unfortunately, they get kicked out of their hide-out and then chased out of town, which makes their living conditions worse than they already are.

ST. CHRISTOPHORUS: ROADKILL SILVER TADPOLE - STUDENT ETUDES COMPETITION cin. PHILIPP HABERLAND, JENS HALLMAN dir. Gregor Erler Filmakademie Baden - Würtemberg Germany 24 min. Chris, a young lawyer, is driving home at night on a country road. But his ride takes an unexpected turn when he witnesses a tragic accident. A crime, two sadistic policemen, and a bestial ranger: the angst-ridden Chris realises that this horrifying night won't be over soon...

I WON'T BE HERE TOMORROW GOLDEN TADPOLE - LASZLO KOVACS STUDENT AWARD cin. JAKUB GIZA dir. Julia Kolberger The Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School Łódz, Poland 28 min. Thirty-year old Marta has had enough of living with her mother and tries to break away from their toxic relationship.

LAST DAY OF SUMMER GOLDEN FROG - SHORT DOCUMENTARY FILMS COMPETITION cin. PIOTR STASIK dir. Piotr Stasik Poland 32 min. The Last Day of Summer is an emotional journey to the times of childhood and a story about difficulties of entering the world of adults. We observe the process of growing up - from seven year old kid who learns how to read to a seventeen year old graduate cadet who has to decide about his future. LITTLE ROSE BEST FILM - POLISH FILMS COMPETITION cin. PIOTR WOJTOWICZ dir. JAN KIDAWA - BŁONSKI Poland 118 min. It is the late 1960s. A famous writer with ties to the political underground embarks on a romantic affair with a much younger, beautiful woman. Blinded by his feelings for her, he does not even suspect that their relationship might not be purely coincidental. "This film told the most profoundly involving story. The woman at its heart dramatizes a half century of Polish history purely by being herself. The camera-work served this complicated tale by never distracting its viewers with technical bravura, leading us to feel what we were seeing." *

KORA, ZABAWA W CHOWANEGO BEST VIDEO - MUSIC VIDEOS COMPETITION cin. MAREK SANAK dir. BARTEK IGNACIUK "For the Best Video, the jury felt almost unanimously, that Kora Jackowska's video for "Zabawa w chowanego" ("Game of Hide-and-Seek") did an excellent job of visually contributing to communicating an important socially relevant message. An ambition which goes far above and beyond the scope of most videos, and we congratulate the film makers for their successful efforts and effective use of the medium." *

HTDA, THE SPACE IN BETWEEN BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY - MUSIC VIDEOS COMPETITION cin. GREIG FRASER dir. Rupert Sanders "For Best Cinematography in a video, Jury has found Greig Fraser's photography on the "The Space Between" video by How To Destroy Angels to be the perfect synthesis of sound and image. More than any other, this video looks like it sounds, and the only word to describe that is cinematographic perfection." *

VENICE GOLDEN FROG - MAIN COMPETITION cin. ARTHUR REINHART dir. Jan Jakub Kolski Poland 110 min. Marek's childhood is shattered by war. His dream trip to Venice, a city whose architecture and history the boy has read on extensively, is a ritual of entering puberty. In the provincial mansion of his aunt, where the entire family found shelter from the chaos of war, Marek creates his very own Venice. "The jury found the film accomplished, impressionistic, atmospheric and extremely well-crafted." *

18th International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography Plus Camerimage 2010 was held from Nov 27th through December 4th in Bydgoszcz, Poland

During 18th Plus Camerimage 270 films of high visual values were presented on 6 screens. Among our guests we hosted 340 cinematographers, 650 students, 222 press representatives and more than 330 film industry representatives. Moreover we have invited 75 special guests: directors, actors, editors, set designers, producers and others.

Plus Camerimage is also famous for its numerous seminars, workshops and meetings with well-known cinematographers, directors, editors and other film industry professionals. The year 2010 was no different in this regard and a series of fascinating events were held. Plus Camerimage Market where Arri, Panavision, Vantage, Sony, Panasonic, Zeiss, K5600, LCA and J.L.Fisher among other companies had their booths, provided a great opportunity to get an up-to-date view on the cutting edge technologies and newest solutions for filmmaking.
