Welcome to Europe, twenty thousand years ago, when the continent was entirely different and the human species was taking its first steps on the path to civilization. Young Keda is not interested in the world around him; he’s focused on the here and now. We meet him as he passes the first of the many rites of passage that will make him a man. During a hunting trip he becomes stranded in the wild and has to fight to survive in an unfamiliar environment. However he befriends a wolf that will change his life forever and make him appreciate the world as it is. Director’s cut will be screened at EnergaCAMERIMAGE

Black Panther

Prince T’Challa, son of T’Chaka, king of Wakanda, returns to his technologically advanced kingdom hidden from the eyes of the world of white colonisers, to lead the nation after the tragic death of his father. He does not pay attention to the fact that the rest of the world is falling to pieces; his only desire is to preserve the existing status quo. But T’Challa will not be able to stay neutral for long, as the filth of the surrounding world suddenly appears at Wakanda’s doorstep. He will have to assume the identity of the Black Panther, become a superhero capable of defending his people from the invaders, and fulfil his destiny.

BlacKkKlansman

Based on a true story, this is the tale of Ron Stallworth, who not only became the first black detective in the history of the Colorado Springs Police Department, but also made fools out of the self-mythologising, not-so-grand Ku Klux Klan. As Stallworth engages in more and more phone conversations with high-ranking Klan members, he sends a white colleague – his Jewish friend Flip Zimmerman – to the Klan meetings. Facing challenges they never suspected to exist as well as some surprising defects of the human spirit, both police officers prove that nothing is impossible.

Elephant Sitting Still, An

Time and again several inhabitants of a city in northern China lose the uphill struggle of dealing with their monotonous lives – lives that are seemingly without any purpose or perspective. They live their dreamless existences against the backdrop of crippling loneliness and in the shadow of violence they can do nothing about, stifling the debilitating anger that must be released somehow. They try to cope with feelings of remorse and regret for actions performed by certain people close to them. They look for empathy and support in an increasingly cynical society, but they do not cease to fight against the overwhelming lethargy around them, believing someone will finally give them a second chance.

I Think We're Alone Now

This is the story of Del – once a dedicated librarian marginalised by mainstream society, and now the only survivor in a town that has suffered an apocalyptic event. He has come to accept the solitary life, even learned to love it. The man’s relatively tranquil existence is interrupted by the appearance of the loud and irritating Grace, who constantly irritates Del and questions every decision he makes. There is a chance these two mismatched human beings are the last two people on Earth, which begs the question – will they be able to learn to live happily with one another?

Teenager Tish loves her darling Fonny with all her heart, and the feeling is reciprocated – Tish is Fonny’s whole world. Unfortunately, they get separated when Fonny is accused of raping a Puerto Rican woman and thrown in jail. Fonny has a perfect alibi, but the colour of his skin makes it somehow inadmissible. Tish and Fonny still love each other more than anything; they are even expecting a child, and the girl together with her world-weary mother try different things to help Fonny regain his freedom. Will love and family solidarity be enough to soothe the trauma of living in prison for a long period of time?

But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

The Old Man & the Gun

It appears that, in his youth, Forrest Tucker decided that he would do anything to avoid boredom in his life. Through the subsequent decades he has become a notorious bank robber who has perfected the art of gentlemanly theft. What is more, each time that he has been locked up in prison, he has miraculously escaped only to start his lawless adventures anew. Now, in 1981, Tucker is in his seventies but does not intend to quit his day job, which he is still very passionate about. Will someone or something be able to change this old man’s ways: maybe a dedicated police officer, or a certain charming widow?

Silverado

What would happen if you brought together a laconic gunslinger straight out of prison, his young and reckless cowboy brother, a black man seeking to avenge his father, and a perpetual loner whose greatest dream would be to stay eternally in some well-supplied saloon? An ill-matched, testosterone-filled bunch not to be messed with – that’s what you’d get. But this is also a group of noble men who will become the last chance for the town of Silverado, which is ruled by a corrupt sheriff and his henchmen. Before they get there, the protagonists will quarrel, fight, reflect on the old ways, defeat some nasty villains and ride into the sunset at the end of the day.

Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, The: Episode 1&2

In seeking a cure for his writers block, Marcus Goldman, a successful writer who is trying to pen his second novel seek council from his former professor, Harry Quebert, at his home in Maine. Shortly after the visit, Marcus discovers that Quebert, his mentor, has been indicted for the murder of a young girl who has been missing for many years after her body is found buried on his property. Goldman does not believe that Quebert is guilty and starts his own investigation, but soon discovers that the truth is far more surprising than even the most inventive literary creation.
