It is our pleasure to announce the results of the selection of Polish films for Main Competition and Polish Films Competition of the22nd International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography CAMERIMAGE.

This is a story about the visions of Adam, a poet who lost his closest friend and his beloved in a car accident. The tense atmosphere becomes the backdrop for a personal drama unfolding along with a nation's tragedy. It's 2010 - “biblical year" in Poland, with floods, fires, landslides and the crash of the presidential plane. Adam quits his job as a university lecturer of symbolic literature and becomes a cashier at the supermarket. But all he really wants to do is to sleep and escape from the painful reality. His only companion in that dark time is Dante's "Divine Comedy", excerpts from which give meaning to Adam's everyday life...

Angelo and Kasia met in Italy in the Focolare Movement where their love and faith in God brought them together. Their relationship is broken by the girl's return to Poland and her decision on entering the convent. Angelo arrives in Warsaw in order to persuade Kasia to change her mind. He takes up a job in an international corporation while waiting for her decision. The company is managed by ruthless and cynical Kris with the support of her assistant Mira. In this corporate reality Angelo, a believer, falls victim to the ridicule and harassment. Kris, using her power, plays with Angelo and wants to force him to break moral principles and yet at the same time she is fascinated by his faith.

A contemporary, multi-faceted metropolis. Nouveau-riche parents and their hedonist, live-in-the-moment children, surrounded by a reality where anger and tension pulsate almost to the brink of explosion. This is where we meet Marcin, a young man who comes to the city and meets Ola, a couple of years his junior. Fascinated, the girl lets him into her world of drugs, endless, bohemian parties and illegal car races. However, neither she nor her parents know that Marcin has a well-guarded secret and a plan for revenge...

"Jack Strong" is a spy thriller based on a true story of a man who dared to challenge the Soviets by himself from within the communist system. As a Polish colonel and chief military planner of the maneuvers of the Warsaw Pact troops, he realized that the American plan of nuclear counterattack against the Soviets may bring nuclear annihilation to Poland. Determined to prevent that, he started a long, lonely and psychologically exhausting cooperation with the CIA. His own, as well as his family's lives have been in jeopardy since then.

A comedy full of absurdity. This is the story of a group of individuals working in a carpet store which is on the brink of bankruptcy. They are looking for love and clumsily trying to fight loneliness. When the store owner decides to save his business, they are confronted by two crooks with charming nicknames: Kebab and Horoscope. They enter the store claiming to be marketing specialists.

"Nude Area" presents an adolescent love between two 15 years old girls, one Dutch another one Moslem, where childish cruelty is mixed with full blown sensuality, where dreams and life reflect and complete each other. "Nude Area" is about unfulfilled desire and erotics of yearning. Sammy Boonstra and Imaan Hamman featured in the film are not actresses but, as Bresson would say, working models taken from life. No word passes between them. The discourse of love they are engaged in proceeds in gestures and looks.

"The Word" is a psychological drama that takes place in present-day Szczecin, Poland. The protagonists are love-stricken two teenagers who live in the suburbs of the sea side city. Under a guise of their so-called “normal teenage lives", a heinous crime is planned and carried out. Lila (14) lives in a well-to-do suburb with her mother and her mother's younger boyfriend. Her father, a lawyer, lives with his new family in Copenhagen, Denmark. Despite being divorced, her parents are close. Three weeks ago Lila's nightmare came true. Her boyfriend, Janek (15), kissed another girl at a party. Unable to forgive him, Lila gives Janek an ultimatum days before the end of the school year. He has 24 hours to prove his love or forget about Lila forever.
