20th Plus Camerimage will once again host the educational programme Talent Demo. This initiative is addressed mainly to students of film and art schools as well as independent filmmakers who will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present their projects or ideas to Experts from the film industry: cinematographers, producers, distributors, agents, etc.

The selection of participants for Talent Demo will be done based on applications sent to the festival organizers. Selected participants will have an opportunity to present their projects to industry professionals and to discuss their career path with them.

Last year our Talent Demo Board of Experts was composed of the following acclaimed professionals: John Seale (Cinematographer); Dante Spinotti (Cinematographer); Hal Hartley (Director, screenwriter, producer, composer, editor); Ann Murtha (CEO, Owner of The Murtha Agency, talent agent); David Kwok (Film festival programmer); Oliver Stapleton (Cinematographer); Konrad Wojterkowski (Producer).

The names of Experts for this year's installment of Talent Demo will be announced on a later date.

Deadline for submissions: 19th October 2012.
Talent Demo session will be held between 25th and 30th November.

What questions can I ask the Expert?
The subject is up to you. We would suggest that you take the given Expert's main area of activity into account and ask him or her about the things they are bound to know a lot about from their experience. It would be better to ask a cinematographer and a talent agent different questions. Think about it in advance and prepare your questions well. You will only have 20 minutes - don't waste it!

Why do I have to reveal my project to you?
Based on submitted projects we will choose those participants who, in our opinion, need to be advised the most. It is not your experience that counts, but your idea and eagerness to develop it. Selected projects will be sent to the Experts before the session for their review. Thanks to that, during Talent Demo they will only have to recall the projects and will be able to devote the time shared with you to finding solutions.

What should I bring along for the session?
All materials submitted to the programme: project's description, optionally a trailer, storyboard, etc.. It is also advisable to have a list of questions along with you, as well as something to write down the tips. Focus on the problem and try to think what information the Expert that you talk to may need in order to help you develop your ideas. If you want, you can bring promo DVDs with your other films and business cards, just in case.

Why do you not announce the Experts' names together with call for submissions?
The Organizers wish to ensure the highest quality of the session. The most interesting and experienced Experts are usually very busy people and can often confirm their attendance only on a very short notice before the Festival.

Why do you charge the registration fee before I am able to choose an Expert?
Arranging your meeting with an Expert is time and money consuming. We need to be sure that you are really interested in the meeting. The registration fee is only PLN 20. If your project gets selected you will pay additional PLN 80 only.

What if I don't manage to come to the session in time? Will you refund the fee?
Unfortunately, refunds will not be possible. Please think your participation over before you make a decision.
