At the beginning of the 1990s only a select few could dream of reaching Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak on Earth. Due to the rise of companies such as Rob Hall’s Adventure Consultants and Scott Fischer’s Mountain Madness, reaching this grand and uncompromising mountain has become a dream for everybody with the right amount of money and the most basic Himalayan experience. In 1996, Mount Everest was stormed at the same time by several expeditions, including those lead by Hall and Fischer. It resulted in one of the most tragic chapters in the history of mountaineering. Shot with spectacular 3D technology and based on real events, Everest puts the audience at the centre of many dramatic and horrifying events, making them admire nature’s power and wrath, feel the cold wind and frost on their skin, experience a sudden snowstorm, and understand what people who had to deal with one of the most extreme situations known to man might have felt.

Every Thing Will Be Fine is a story of guilt, redemption and forgiveness, without clearly defined perpetrators and victims. It covers a period of twelve years, and unveils the beauty of characters full of weaknesses, who got lost in their attempts to understand their fate and compensate for the harm they caused. It is a story of Tomas, a writer involved in a tragic traffic accident on a winter morning. A small child is killed, and neither Tomas, nor the boy’s mother or brother could have done anything to stop it from happening. Nevertheless, the writer is consumed by guilt, and year by year he keeps sinking deeper and deeper into stagnation and emotional vegetation. His subconsciousness sabotages all his relationships with women who love him. He is trapped in an emotional abyss. Similarly, the family of the boy is unable to move on and shake the shadow of the tragedy off. It is a humanistic drama, skillfully merging 3D images with the very fabric of the film reality, offering the audience a better understanding of each of the characters.

A young man, Murphy, wakes up next to his wife and a two-years-old child. An unexpected voice mail interrupts his safe, daily routine. The message comes from the mother of his former lover, Electra, who is very anxious about her daughter, not having heard from her for a long time. A few simple words bring back a tide of bitter-sweet memories from the long-lost past full of erotic exploration, beautiful promises and exciting life on the edge of excess. Murphy recalls all the good and bad moments of his two-year long relationship with Electra. He sets out on a risky journey of introspection that could potentially shake the very foundations of the present and future life of his and those closest to him. The yet unexplored potential of 3D technology allowed the creators of Love to tell a visual story stretched between a classic tragic romance and a visceral, graphic representation of physical intimacy. The film stimulates senses and imagination, setting new boundaries of cinematic experience.

Mark Watney is on Mars. Around him – boundless deserts, inaccessible plateaus and rust-coloured mountains illuminated by a slightly different than usual Sun. Mark, however, cannot call himself lucky for he is on Mars all alone. As a result of an unexpected natural disaster, his crew had to leave the Red Planet immediately, declaring Mark dead and leaving him behind. The astronaut must not only find a way to signal Earth that he is still alive, but also figure out how to survive in a situation no human has ever been in before. His rescue, if it ever comes, is a few hundred days of starvation and loneliness away. Fortunately, Mark is an expert botanist with great imagination. Using the spaciousness and image depth offered by the 3D technology, the creators of The Martian take the viewer on a cosmic journey to a realm that extends far beyond human cognition.

Have you ever wondered how has Peter Pan become Peter Pan and has he always known how to fly? When and how did he met Captain Hook and was their mutual aversion immediate? What were the origins of The Lost Boys? Full of glamourous costumes, sets and spectacular 3D effects, the story presented in Pan answers all these questions and takes the audience for an unforgettable journey on the verge of two worlds – human and magical. Little Peter was raised in an orphanage and has never met his parents. A series of unexpected events takes him to Neverland, a place beyond time and space, where he is captured by the cruel pirate, Blackbeard, and meets the young James Hook. Together they embark on an exciting voyage, where he meets Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily and many other characters with whom he shares his destiny.

It is the 1960s. Young and ambitious Philippe Petit, a talented high-wire artist preoccupied with the biggest dreams a man can dream, goes to a dentist with painful toothache. While waiting for his turn, his eyes focus on a glossy magazine with a picture of the World Trade Center twin towers being built in New York. He tears out the page and rushes through the door. For the next several days his tooth is killing him, but he has a new big dream implanted in his mind—to rig a steel wire between those towers and to walk across it without any safety devices. The Walk is an artistic interpretation of the events (years of training, months of preparations, finding accomplices that are crazy enough) that resulted in Petit’s brave and exhilarating act, that was truly unprecedented in world history. The film is told from the protagonist’s perspective and enriched by a towering use of 3D technology that brings the viewer as close as cinematically possible to the physical experience of being the ‘man on wire’.

In the 1960s a young student from Beijing is sent to the boundless steppes of Inner Mongolia to educate a certain nomadic tribe of shepherds. Once there, he discovers a fascinating world he didn’t even suspect existed. What first seemed a tedious and meaningless task turns into an adventure of a lifetime. The tutor is captivated by the culture and traditions of his students who clearly surpass him in terms of worldly wisdom. It is among them that his true identity and life purpose are revealed. Intrigued by the almost mystical bond between the shepherds and wolves, the boy adopts a wolf cub and begins to train it. Soon, however, he learns about the plans of the local authorities to exterminate these majestic animals. Shot in impressive 3D, Wolf Totem is a captivating story about a long-forgotten world where people live in harmony with nature and its eternal laws, set against the backdrop of the raw beauty of the Mongolian steppes.

In a world where gods, demons and humans are forced to coexist with each other in order to honour a forced alliance, a series of events is taking place that could forever change the fragile balance of power, plunging the whole world into chaos. The imminent war broods over the Chinese city of Hu, resting on the Silk Road almost on the very border with the realm of demons, and thus often invaded by the forces of Hell. Daredevils from all three regions embark on a quest to find a mysterious dark crystal that could tip the scales of victory to their favour. The end will justify the means and the rules of the game will be determined by the winners. Will good once again be able to triumph over the forces of darkness? Zhongkui: Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal is a live-action adventure featuring expert use of CGI and 3D technology that reflect the vast wealth of Chinese mythology. The film immerses the viewer in a world of archetypal heroes and villains engaged in spectacular battles of good versus evil.
