The next instalment of the "Music Videos: the Master Class Series" programme featuring world-renowned music video artists presenting the most remarkable projects in the history of the genre.





MICHAEL LINDSAY-HOGG

The highlight of this year's edition of "Music Videos: the Master Class Series" will be a presentation by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, a true pioneer among music video artists, who helmed, among other projects, the very first videos for The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Michael also directed the cult classic documentary Let it Be about the Fab Four. He created music videos for such hit songs as: "Hey Jude," "Revolution," "Paperback Writer" by The Beatles; "Jumpin' Jack Flash", "Child of the Moon" by The Rolling Stones; "Happy Jack", "Join Together" by The Who; "You Give Good Love" by Whitney Houston and Elton John's "Ego". Michael Lindsay-Hogg is also the laureate of this year's Plus Camerimage Music Video Pioneer Award.

Laughter of the Loins: How Music and Film Come Together

Legendary cinematographer, Christopher Doyle, has worked on such iconic films as Chungking Express, In the Mood for Love, Hero and Paranoid Park. He also shot music videos for Cui Jian, known as "The Father of Chinese Rock" and Faye Wong, the Chinese pop diva. Chris also worked for other distinguished musicians: Sigur Ross ("Gobbledigook"), Jack White and The Raconteurs ("Steady As She Goes"), Florence + The Machine ("No Light, No Light"), Justin Timberlake (“SexyBack"), The Strokes, and many others. In his presentation, Chris will talk not only about his work on music videos but also about structure, light and collaboration in general which, as he says, often lead to “laughter of the loins".

PIOTR 'GLACA' MOHAMED

This year's edition of "Music Videos: the Master Class Series" will feature a special presentation by Piotr "Glaca" Mohamed, musician, composer and music producer; the founder of the band Sweet Noise and My Riot; co-creator of the M.T.void project (with Justin Chancellor from the legendary Tool). Glaca not only makes music, he is also involved in the production of his music videos. Plus Camerimage audience will have a unique opportunity to learn the secrets of music video making from someone who is both a producer and a musician.

Christopher Soos lensed, among other films, Welcome to the Rileys, Whiteout and the documentary Anvil: The Story of Anvil. He earned recognition for shooting countless commercials for top brands and music videos for many acclaimed artists, including: David Bowie ("Little Wonder"), Marilyn Manson ("Beautiful People"), Massive Attack ("Pray For Rain"), Sigur Ros ("Glosoli"), The Cure ("The End Of The World"), Christina Aguilera ("Fighter"), Tricky ("Makes Me Wanna Die"), White Stripes ("Blue Orchid"). Chris will talk about his work on music videos and what a modern cinematographer has to deal with from the movement from film to digital.
